Prayer Opportunities:

Written: August 2, 2023

God is doing amazing things... and YOU make it possible for this work to continue. Next year we will celebrate our 10th anniversary: A Decade of Hope! Plans are underway for special events and ways for you to be encouraged to see all that your partnership accomplishes each day and the impact of your giving.

Thank you for bringing hope and life to the hurting.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think

according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the

church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Ephesians 3:20-21

What's Happening

Here are the highlights of our current efforts and needs. We invite you to pray, participate and partner with us as we walk out the mission to bring Hope for Addiction. We've also included a few progress reports on ongoing initiatives.

New Church Partners

At the end of August, Desert Hills Bible Church in Glendale, AZ will be trained for Recovering Hope ministry with a launch in September.

Redeemer Bible Church in Gilbert, Arizona is also preparing to start Recovering Hope and we planning for training.

When a church enters into dark places with the light of the gospel, it is common to experience opposition

Please pray for these churches as they prepare to serve the hurting in their communities.

Curriculum Updates

Translation of the Recovering Hope materials is underway for both Spanish and Portuguese! A church in Brazil is planning to launch Recovering Hope next year, and translation is underway!

TWO video curriculum series:

Production of a 5 part video series, Beginning Hope will begin in the coming weeks. A trailer for this series will preview in the next couple of months. The final scripts are being finalized and illustrations for the first video are complete. Please pray that this series will impact many as the message of the gospel is proclaimed with simplicity and honesty.

The outline for a new curriculum for churches is underway. This series will be a deeper presentation of the gospel: from creation and the fall, God's rescue plan- the gospel, the response of repentance and living for Christ.

Please pray for all involved in producing these materials and that many will hear the good news of Christ.

Hope for Addiction is preparing to exhibit at these conferences this fall:

G3 Conference: September

ACBC Conference: October

The Southern Baptist Convention in June was extremely successful with more than 100 churches registering for the free church toolkit!

Please pray for many contacts to be made with churches who desire to bring the gospel to hurting addicts.

Recovering Hope

Recovering Hope weekly meeting lessons are in process for translation to Spanish and Portuguese! All the lessons are being updated prior to translation, so this is a big project. But, we are underway!

The new church onboarding process is complete and we are working with two new churches for onboarding. This new process supports new churches with all the tools needed to promote and launch their Recovering Hope ministry.

Liberty House

Currently, two moms reside at Liberty House. "J" was born August 2nd! His mom had nowhere to go and was anxious about how to care for her soon-to-be-born son. God answered and over the past two months, she has settled into Liberty House and prepared for "J's" birth. Sophi had been struggling for months and was set to move into Freedom House in mid-June. June 3rd, her toddler son was diagnosed with a rare eye cancer. This delayed her entrance but when things escalated with her living situation, we took her into Liberty House. "C" celebrated his second birthday at Liberty House. "C's" mom  said,

"Last year for his 1st birthday I had a department of child safety worker bring him to me for 4 hours. This year I get him the WHOLE DAY. Full time momma clean and sober by the GRACE OF GOD!!! My heart is full today. <3 Thank God I get to wake up to my son everyday and we are in a safe environment."

These two moms with uncertain futures, now have hope and a future. These moms have a safe home to care for their boys, and both moms will transition to Freedom House in the near future to continue the path toward freedom and independence.

WHEW! There is so much happening!
We'd love to hear from you.
