our three homes
What makes our homes different?
Many people have already tried programs, meetings, or sober environments that did not lead to lasting change. Our homes are designed to be more complete, supportive and life changing.
1
BIBLICAL FOUNDATION
Every aspect of the home is grounded in Scripture. Not opinions, not trends, and not shifting recovery models. The Gospel brings freedom, not just sobriety.
2
STRUCTURED LIVING
Residents have clear expectations, routines and responsibilities to promote stability and personal growth. These include managing time and money, developing life skills and making wise decisions.
3
PERSONAL DISCIPLESHIP
More than a sponsor, residents are mentored in all areas of life. They are guided, taught, and cared for intentionally. Biblical counseling is a vital part of our program.
4
LOVING ACCOUNTABILITY
Learning to live life takes loving guidance and accountability. Staff are actively involved in
all aspects of life, ensuring success and freedom.
5
FOCUS ON HEART ISSUES
We do not stop at outward behavior. We help residents understand the desires, beliefs, and patterns that drive their choices.
6
PARENTING SUPPORT
For women and men with children, parenting plans support bonding and ensure parents identify and meet all the needs of their children.
7
WHOLE-LIFE SUPPORT
We address housing, mental health, parenting, life skills, employment readiness, and community connection, because lasting sobriety requires stability in every area of life, not just one.
What Is Sober Living?
Sober living homes are structured environments designed to help individuals transition out of addiction and into stable, responsible living.
Many sober living homes focus primarily on maintaining sobriety through rules and peer accountability. While structure and accountability are important, they are not enough on their own.
True, lasting change requires more than external structure, it requires internal transformation.
Christian Sober Living vs. Traditional Sober Living
Not all sober living is the same.
Traditional sober living homes often focus on:
-
Maintaining sobriety through rules
-
Peer-led accountability
-
Group meetings without deeper personal care
Our homes are intentionally different.
We provide:
-
Biblical counseling and discipleship
-
Daily structure and clear expectations ensuring progress
-
Gospel-centered teaching that addresses the heart
-
A community rooted in truth, not just shared struggle
We do not approach addiction as something that simply needs to be managed. We believe it must be understood in light of Scripture and addressed at the level of the heart.
Learn to balance a full-time job, while having the structure and support for all of life.
Who Our Homes Are For
Our sober living programs are designed for individuals who are ready for real change, not just temporary stability. We are a long-term transition program that supports all of life.
We serve:
Single Mothers with Children
We offer options specifically for mothers who want to pursue lasting change while continuing to care for their children.
This provides:
-
A stable and structured home environment
-
Support in parenting while pursuing recovery
-
A setting where both mother and child can experience consistency and care
We recognize the unique challenges mothers face and seek to provide a place where both responsibility and restoration are taken seriously.
Single Men
Men who need structure, accountability, and biblical guidance as they rebuild their lives and learn to be responsible leaders of their homes and in the community.
Single Women
Women seeking a safe, structured environment where they can grow in stability and independence.

Frequently Answered Questions
Is there a cost to the program?
There is no cost to get started. When you first enter the program, housing and services are provided at no charge. As you gain financial stability over time, an affordable rent contribution is introduced, but cost is never a barrier to getting in.
Do I need insurance or income to apply?
No. You do not need insurance, income, or any financial resources to apply. We will figure out the rest together once you're here.
Can I bring my children?
Yes. Women with children are welcome. Liberty House and Freedom House serve moms with children ages 10 and under. If you have questions about your specific situation, call us and we'll talk it through.
Men with children are supported in parenting and in-home visits are accommodated.
What if I am singe or without my children?
You are welcome to apply! Our program serves single men, single women and mothers with children.
Is this a Christian program? Do I have to share your faith to live here?
We are a faith-based program rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ, and faith is at the center of everything we do. You do not have to share our faith to apply or live here, but you will be loved and supported by people who do, and faith will be part of your daily experience in the home.
What does a typical day look like?
Every day includes structured routines responsibilities within the home, program activities, and time with staff and mentors. You'll have an individualized plan that guides your goals and progress. It's structured, but it's also a real home, not an institution. Once stabilized, program activities are replaced with a job and support toward independence.
How long can I stay?
Liberty House is a short-term stabilization home, typically 30-120 days. Freedom House and Restoration House are long-term programs. There's no rigid end date; you stay as long as you're actively working the program, making progress, and until you achieve independence. The length of the program is unique to you and your needs.
What if I'm not sure I'm ready?
That's okay. Most people who walk through our doors aren't sure they're ready. You don't have to have it all together to apply. You just have to be willing to take the next step. We'll walk the rest of the way with you.
What happens if I need to leave the program?
We handle every situation individually with care and honesty. If you're considering leaving, please talk to staff first. We want to help you work through whatever you're facing. Leaving without notice may affect your ability to return, so we always encourage an honest conversation before any decision is made.
How quickly can I get in after applying?
We typically follow up within 48 hours of receiving your application. Move-in timing depends on available space, but we work to get people in as quickly as possible. If there is a wait, we'll stay in contact and help connect you with resources in the meantime.
Do you have a program for men?
Yes. Restoration House is our long-term residential program for men dealing with homelessness, addiction, or mental health challenges. Apply directly through the men's application on our Apply page.
What should I bring?
Bring yourself and your children. We'll help you figure out the rest. If you have personal belongings, medications, or important documents, bring those too, but don't let not having things stop you from reaching out.
I still have questions. Who can I talk to?
Call us at 480-782-0403 or email info@ahometodwell.com A real person will get back to you. We'd love to hear from you and see if our program is a good fit for you.
